Glossary

One name for each thing in AnswerStack: tasks and commitments, roles and job titles, terms and vocabulary, discounts and specials, connectors and connections, attended.

AnswerStack uses one name for each thing. Where two words sound alike, this page says which is which. Your app uses your own terms for a location, a meeting and a contact, so where this page says "community" or "tour", your screens may say "office" or "appointment".

Work#

WordWhat it means
TaskSomething a person on your team should do, put on Today or My tasks by a fixed rule. A task in your CRM is always called a CRM task.
CommitmentSomething promised to a caller on a conversation: a callback, an answer to confirm, information to send. A commitment coming due puts a Commitment due task on Today.
AttendedThe caller came to their tour. The attended rate is attended tours out of those whose outcome your CRM knows; a missed one is a no-show. For a callback objective, attended means the callback was made on time.

People#

WordWhat it means
RoleWhat a login may see and do: owner, admin, editor, group manager (shown with your word, such as Community manager), viewer or sales rep. See Team and roles.
Job titleWhat a staff member does, on a community's staff list, such as memory care director. Booking rules match on it. It is not a role.

Words#

WordWhat it means
TermsYour account's own nouns: what you call a location, a meeting, a contact, a service and a special. Set under Settings → Your terms.
VocabularyThe words and phrases callers say, so the assistant understands them: Settings → Caller vocabulary, and vocabulary packs on a playbook.

Money#

WordWhat it means
SpecialAn offer you make to callers, such as a move-in special. See Specials.
DiscountA reduction we give you on your invoice. It appears as a Discount line. See Usage and invoices.
Add-onA feature our team turns on for your account, such as Conversation Intelligence or booking pages. A locked screen says when one is not turned on.

Integrations#

WordWhat it means
ConnectorA kind of system AnswerStack can work with, such as WelcomeHome, Google Calendar, Microsoft 365 Calendar or a generic webhook. You pick one to add a connection.
ConnectionYour account's own, signed-in link to a CRM or calendar, under Connections. The assistant looks callers up, saves contacts, logs calls and books tours through it.
Tool serverAn outside MCP server the assistant can look things up in, under Tools. See Tool servers. One can also be used as a CRM through a connection.
Connected appOutside software, such as an AI assistant, that works with your account through AnswerStack's own MCP server, under Personal settings → Developer → Connected apps. See Connect AI apps.
