Using the app
Stack, your assistant
Ask in plain English about how your account is set up and how your conversations went, from the top bar of every page.
Stack is the assistant in the top bar of the admin app. Type a question in Ask your Stack anything… and press Enter, or pick one of the examples under the field. Press ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl K (Windows) to jump to it from any page.
Stack is powered by an AI model that decides what to look up in your account, reads it, and writes the answer. Answers come only from your own account, never from the model's memory, and code checks every number and date in an answer before you see it: a sentence the data does not support is left out, and the answer says so. While it works, Stack shows what it is looking up.
What you can ask#
| About | For example | Needs |
|---|---|---|
| Phone numbers | "Which number goes to Lakeview?", "What version is Oak Ridge running?" | Every plan |
| Playbooks | "What's live on the main line?", "Any unpublished drafts?" | Every plan |
| Communities | "Which communities have no backup plan?", "What communities do we have?" | Every plan |
| CRM and calendar | "Is the CRM connected?", "Is our calendar working?" | Every plan |
| The team | "Who is on the team?", "Who has no second sign-in step?" | Every plan |
| Your conversations | "How did we do yesterday?", "Which community booked the most tours last week?", "Why did Lakeview drop in August?" | Insights Ask (add-on) |
It can also answer about calls, bookings, callbacks, what your playbooks say, your knowledge, prices and specials, booking pages, your own tours and hours, your usage and, with Conversation Intelligence, leads, knowledge gaps and Today: "How many callbacks are still open?", "What changed between version 7 and version 8?", "What does memory care cost at Lakeview?", "Which leads are hot?". And it answers how the product works from these docs, with a link to the article: "How do I add a holiday closure?". Ask What can you do? for more.
History and ratings#
- Chat history (the clock in the panel) lists your chats, each named by the question it started with; your latest chats also show when you open Stack. Chats are kept for 90 days after you last use them.
- Under each answer, Was this helpful? Your rating, and a note when it was not, go to the AnswerStack team so we can make Stack better.
Daily limits#
Each question, each person and each account has a daily allowance for Stack's AI answers. When one is reached, Stack still answers, in a simpler mode that only knows a fixed set of questions, and says so. The allowance comes back at midnight UTC.
What an answer shows#
- The answer in a few sentences, then its scope: for a setup question, what it covers "as set up now"; for a question about conversations, the dates, the time zone and the filters.
- A table of what it read. Phone numbers are shown here, never in the sentences.
- A link to the page where you change that setup (Open Phone numbers, Open the playbook), or to the Insights view that shows the same numbers.
Who sees what#
Stack answers as you. It sees exactly what your role sees on the pages it reads: a community manager hears about their own communities only, and a role that cannot open a page is told so. Questions about your conversations need the Insights Ask add-on and a role that can see Insights; without them, Stack says so and still answers setup questions.
Your questions are yours: nobody else on your team sees them. Save one to run it again later, or to get it in your weekly digest. Questions are kept for 90 days after you last use them.
To make Stack better, the AnswerStack team may review the questions asked, Stack's answers and your ratings, for up to 90 days. Accounts in compliance mode keep no question or answer text for this, and their questions are answered without the AI model.
Apps you connect through our MCP server can ask Stack too, with the ask_stack tool (see
MCP tools).
