Using the app

The mobile app

Your tours, schedule, tasks and calls on your phone. Add AnswerStack to your home screen from the browser, and stay signed in with Face ID or a fingerprint.

The mobile app is AnswerStack for the people who give tours, made for a phone. It opens at app.getanswerstack.com/m in your phone's browser. Add it to your home screen and it opens full screen from its own icon, like any other app. There is nothing to download from an app store, and every improvement reaches you the next time you open it.

It has everything from Your work: My next tour on Home, My tours with each tour's brief, reschedule and cancel, the Visit section for notes, next steps and photos for the family, My tasks, My calls, your schedule, your booking pages and your settings. You sign in with the same email and password as on the web, and the same second sign-in step.

Home, the lock, and Home when your sign-in is not kept behind a passkey.

Before you start: add a passkey#

A passkey lets the app keep you signed in and unlock with Face ID, Touch ID or a fingerprint, the way a banking app does. Without one, the app signs you out each time it locks, and you sign in again with your password.

Add it on the phone you will use, so the passkey is the phone's own Face ID or fingerprint:

  1. On your phone, open app.getanswerstack.com in the browser and sign in.
  2. Open the account menu (the person icon in the top right), choose Personal settings, then Login security.
  3. Choose Add a method, then Passkey, and follow your phone's prompt.

Already have a passkey from before October 2026? Add it again the same way: older passkeys may not be able to unlock the mobile app. See Login security for more on passkeys and the other sign-in methods.

Add it to your home screen#

  1. Open it in Safari

Go to app.getanswerstack.com/m in Safari. (Chrome and Edge on iOS 16.4 or later can do this too, from their own share button.) Don't use a private tab.

  2. Tap Share

Tap the Share button: the square with an arrow pointing up. On an iPhone it is at the bottom of the screen; on an iPad, at the top right.

  3. Tap Add to Home Screen

Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen. If you don't see it, tap Edit Actions at the bottom and add it.

  4. Tap Add

Leave the name as AnswerStack, or shorten it, and tap Add at the top right. The icon appears on your home screen.

  5. Open it and sign in

Open AnswerStack from the new icon and sign in. An app on the home screen keeps its own sign-in, separate from Safari's, so you sign in once more here. When it asks, use your passkey to stay signed in on this device.

Signing in and the lock#

Like a banking app, AnswerStack locks to keep your families' details private:

  • Every time it opens, and after 2 minutes in the background or 5 minutes without a tap (AnswerStack may adjust these). With a passkey, unlock with Face ID or your fingerprint. Five failed unlocks sign you out.
  • Every 30 days, you sign in again with your password.
  • When you switch away, the screen is covered, so the app switcher never shows a caller's details.

If you see You will be signed out when the app locks on Home, your sign-in is not kept behind a passkey on this device. Tap Stay signed in with my passkey. If nothing happens, add a passkey first (above), then tap it again.

How it differs from an app-store app#

  • It needs a connection. Notes, next steps and photos go up as you add them. If your signal drops, they wait and go up when it comes back, as long as the app stays open. If you try to close it with something still waiting, it asks first. The Uploads page under More shows anything that is waiting or could not go.
  • Photos come from your phone's camera or photo library. They are made smaller before they upload, and they are never saved to your photo library.
  • Booking pages, a family's page and Help open in a new browser tab.
  • Updates come by themselves. If the app says it is out of date, tap Reload.
  • Notifications are not available yet.

Troubleshooting#

I can't find Add to Home Screen

On an iPhone or iPad, use Safari's Share button, not the page's own menu. Scroll the whole list, or add it with Edit Actions. It isn't offered in a private tab. On Android, use Chrome's ⋮ menu.

It signs me out every time

Your sign-in isn't kept behind a passkey. Add a passkey on this phone (above), open the app from its icon, sign in, and use the passkey when asked. Passkeys added before October 2026 may need adding again.

The passkey prompt didn't appear after I signed in

Some phones only show it straight after a tap. Tap Stay signed in with my passkey on Home.

It says the app is out of date

Tap Reload. It loads the newest version.

I use a new phone, or I removed the icon

Add it to the home screen again and sign in. Add a passkey on the new phone too. Nothing is kept on a phone after the app closes, so finish any uploads before you switch.
